Those are like riding a mtn bike with training wheels. Yes, I've demo'd them...they suck. Get some real skis, or a real snowboard, and get better.

I just picked up a set of these. I had some components from my rack on my explorer so I didn't need to purchase any more. They mount to the cross rails and provide a real sturdy mount for the wagon.

go to REI they often have sales on both thule and yakima. I didn't try one for the WRX but my pathfinder has bike racks from REI and they had a good deal on sale. They have people there that will help fitment as well.
