Got it towed to AutoHQ, was super close, when they get in I will rap about what replacement to go with. I have some extra cash right now so I am debating going aluminum. Who knows I may need it down the road when I win the lotto and get a built engine. Thanks for the help ya'll.

The koyo aluminum is a nice piece. I nearly went with one but when I came up on the koyo stock replacement for so cheap I was like... WTF. Why not. Save the $200. LOL!

KOYO full aluminum would be the primary choice. Mishimoto would be an alternative secondary choice. Don't ever get CXRacing.

The quality all goes into the welds on the fins and the construction of the radiator tank, I would go with KOYO if you want a sturdy product with better quality control that goes a long way.

If you're car is an '05, then your stock radiator lasted about 7 years? So, using that as a gauge (my stock one lasted 9 years), do you foresee owning your car is 2019? Is it worth the extra 2 to 300 $ to get a full aluminum vs a stock replacement?

Same here. My car was thankfully already in the shop being worked on and they had to drain the coolant and remove the hoses. When they did, they found the crack just waiting for the right (wrong) time. I was already looking at a lot for the timing belt and other work, I didn't feel like splurging on a radiator.

Yes I do see owning my car until 2019. I love my wagon. I have been putting money aside for about 8 years to do a fully built car. So spending a little more on the proper radiator now makes sense to me.

The price depends on if you are buying a used OEM one compared to a retail price Brand New OEM replacement lol. Those are pricey! Unless walker has a phat hook up or discount code, it won't be far off from the price of an aftermarket full Aluminum one.

I got a full koyo aluminum when my side/endtanks burst on me and MAKE SURE the upper hose is trimmed properly...

The shope that did my radiator did me dirty, upper hose wasn't trimmed right and the fans cut a hole into the bottom within a week, squirted coolant out onto the fans and all over my engine bay and I blew my headgasket!

But the radiator itself is awesome...its very big, keeps the motor cool

Koyo full aluminum 53mm w/1.3bar cap $365 w/ free shipping.

Sound good to everyone? Than I need new hoses and a thermostat.

Will have it towed home so it is not in Kevin's way over at AutoHQ.

Boosted to get on the freeway at Oregon expressway than was just doing 65 until I saw the steam at, University, the next exit. When I saw the steam coming from the engine bay I looked down at the temp (stock temp gauge I know is not the most accurate) It was nominal. I than turned the car off and coasted to the shoulder. I do not think there was any damage done to the motor.

Mine blew on my way to work... my FIRST day at work. I was starting a new job and BOOM. Fortunately I was stopping at Starbucks because I was about 45 minutes early. Was at a light and saw the steam. Pulled in to start bucks. popped my hood. Saw the coolant but no leak. Gave it some gas and saw the crack. Turned it off and had it towed home.

Sucked.

If you have the money get the aluminum one.

Me too. There's really only two cars I'd even give a second of thought to replacing my wagon with...

2008 XT Sport. Manual. Graphite.
2012 WRX hatch.

That's it until they make either a real WRX wagon again or bring back the outback XT/Legacy GT wagon... IN MANUAL.

But I'm planning on having this wagon for quite a while.
