Going to Chicago. Tell me what to do there.
So,... for my birthday a couple weeks ago my girlfriend gave me a trip to Chicago. She is putting us up at The Hard Rock Hotel and got us tickets to the Cubs versus our very own GIANTS!!! This is probably the coolest thing ever, well besides an AP, TBE, and protune. Can you guys tell me where to go, what to see, where to eat. Don't know what is there besides Wrigley and The Sears Tower.
TIA

Go watch a live Jerry Springer taping....that's always a giggle if you have a free couple of hours in chicago. Be warned though, the pixel blockers that hide naked 400lbs women on the show don't work in real life...your eyes might be shocked.

i was spent a week there this summer. i would recommend millenium park, (also near buckingham fountain made famous by married w/children), the art institute, and the aquarium. the natural art museum was a bit disappointing as it is basically a whole lot of stuffed animals, but they did have a really cool native american display. they might still have king tut but i didn't want to pay the extra bucks just to see a mummy, maybe its just me.
sears tower is cool, not that exciting but its hard to go to chicago and not check out the tallest skyscraper in the country.
eats: just about any chicago style pizza place is good. they are all a little bit different. we ate at lou malnatis which uses a cornmeal crust and walked out of there stuffed! aslo have to try a chicago style dog with all the fixins. we also ate at a really good cuban restaurant but the name escapes me.
should be muggy as hell, but fun!

Mudman---sorry not Springer Show for me. Is he even still on?
Turfshark and Babysmurf--- Thanks for the suggestions. I will take them into consideration and hopefully I can do/eat all things mentioned.
No love for going to Wrigley and watching OUR GIANTS play?

What's good about watching a Cubs game? I dunno, watch what's left of their pitching staff? LOL. At least the Giants still have Matt Cain and Jason Schmidt. Eat a Chicago style dog while you're there and pile it up with as much stuff as you can eat. Hah.

The less I explain the better, but you should go. Get there early though, especially when the weather's good the line is a couple blocks long and they sell out.
There are also several comedy clubs, ranging from Second City to random byob improv places that can be a lot of fun.
I think Navy Pier has fireworks just about every weekend, and you can take a water taxi between there and the museum complex, which gives you a nice view of the city. If you're into museums, in addition to ones previously mentioned there's the Museum of Science and Industry, which is sort of a museum done by corporations, so it's kind of cool and kind of hilariously like a giant commercial for industry. (I can't remember if they still have the sliced up people, I think they do.)
Maybe when I'm awake I'll think of more . . .

Be sure to go barhopping in Wrigleyville (the area around the field) at night, its nice even in December. Also, you have to have some Chicago style pizza while you are there, and order a mini, even a small is was too big.
Also, go to Portello's if you have a chance. World famous hot dogs!
