Getting the damn sideskirts off

are you guys just unscrewing that little plastic on at the front and popping the clips underneath?...or am I missing something

I saw that instruction sheet but it isn't very helpful...I'm gonna try to pop those clips with a flat head

also, where the hell are you guys putting these things so transport them?

they're totally filthy and too long to fit in the car me thinks

IIRC, yes its just about 6 or 7 of those little plastic pop/twist clips on the bottom and then one on each end. It should come right off.

To transport them, pull down the center of your back seat and feed them through the trunk... hahaah too funny... don't become a civil or mechanical engineer

The clip on the front, don't bother with a philips you'll just strip the head of the screw. Stick a little flathead under the center part and pop it out. Then the same deal with the clips underneath (six I think). Then just rip the thing off.

They will fit in through your rear seat pass through. Wrap em in garbage bags or something. If you're taking them somewhere to drop them off, personally I'd just leave em on the car until you get to the paint shop and remove 'em in the parking lot.

Good luck.

ya, I got the clips...but those m*ther f*ckin screws at the front won't budge

I'm gonna find something with a little more prying power...or just freakin slicem off if I have to

I have a guy in SF who said he'd do them for me for 80 bucks, just like the folks down in San Jose...but he said he didn't think he could do that for everyone

Sorry, I tried to hook up my North bay bros so they wouldn't have to drive so far

maybe if I get him to do it for 90-100 for other peeps it'd be worth it to some people here

I'll ask him

No no no! 6 clips on the bottom, pop them off where there are slits for your screw driver. Then there is only 1 screw on the front end of the side skirt! Unscrew the closest one to the bottom and you're finished. That screw is easy to get off, it doesn't even screw ALL the way out, you turn it like 180 degrees and it pops off like the clip. If it doesn't work the first time, screw it back in and try again. It really isn't much of a screw.

I just dropped mine off with the folks in San Jose. Super cool. I just drove in and they took em off for me in like 3 minutes.

With the screw in the front you have to use a really light touch....since they are plastic they don't really unscrew like normal screws.......Then flip the clips out with a small flat head screw driver.....

I'm prolly gonna have to clean mine off after I pop'em out
Then I might borrow a buddy's Legacy wagon or just fold down the center of the rear seat and feed'em in from the trunk

I wouldn't worry to much.

What threw me off just now, is that the "screw" is sitting in a clip, so as I was trying to unscrew this "screw", the clip was turning also. Because it was so dirty, I thought the whole thing was one screw, but it's actually a small screw head (about the diameter of a pencil) surrounded by the clip. SO - pry out just the screw, and then the clip will follow.
