Getting air out of P/S lines

So I replaced the 2 P/S lines that run from the steering rack up to the reservoir and the pump, and also replaced the pump itself. Filled it with Dexron 3 ATF and followed the instructions in the Subaru Manual. But while the car is sitting still or moving very slowly, I'm still have issues with some minor shudder. Does anybody know any other way for me to bleed the air out of the lines, aside from just redoing the procedure over again?

Edit: Mod's please don't move, there are no responses in the technical threads.

I don't know what the Subaru manual says, but to bleed the PS line on my car, after filling it up, I leave the cap off of the reservoir, and turn the wheel lock-to-lock with a friend watching until the fluid stops bubbling.

yes this is the correct way, make sure you do it very slowly too, last time I had to do this though was on a 300ZX, and honestly I couldnt get the thing fully bled no matter how hard I tried, but after a couple days of driving it around town it all cleared out, g'luck!

I hope it works itself out. I took it out and drove it around town, got the car nice and warmed up and everything seemed great, till I was almost home. I notice now, with the car idle and turning the wheel that there is a shudder again. And some weird noises coming from the steering rack area. How can I tell if there is a problem with the steering rack. Anybody know?

I don't see how your steering rack would have been damaged. When you had everything out did you clean it all out....so you can see if there are any leaks in the reinstall?

hopefully it's a combo of air in the lines and the car sitting for a while.

From what I see there are no leaks. But the steering rack could have gotten damaged from a lack of fluid. That's what I figure, but I'm not sure. I also checked to make sure there are no kinks in the lines and didn't find any.
