Twitter was just the beginning. After dreaming up the innovative social-networking medium, Jack Dorsey is looking to revolutionize another core aspect of society: money.
Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, has announced that his new start-up, Square, has developed a way for anyone with a cellphone or iPod to become a merchant and accept credit card payments.
Square is a small plastic device that plugs into a gadget's headphone jack. Buyers swipe their credit cards through the device, which then transmits the payment data to an application running on a connected iPhone or iPod Touch. (Android and Blackberry apps are in development, and computer software will be available later.)

Bunch of you guys thought I was insane when I stated in Japan they use Cellphones for everything, passports, credit card payments, etc.
Here is one step toward that era with this.

This will revolutionize prostitution. Now when you pick a hooker up you can ask if she accepts american express... or ebt :-)
that wont stop me from swiping my card through their *** cheeks. err I mean I use cash uhh I mean I don't transact with prostitutes oh god... I don't even work here.

Yeah, I saw the the other day, until recently they had a handheld credit card read, but now its all on an iPod tough (I'm assuming its a touch, because an iPhone would be overkill). It also scans barcodes.

All we need now is to integrated Hooker Search into google maps to find the nearest and cheapest of ******. This would be especially useful for travelers.

Parts of UK insert chips into their hands, which takes the role of a credit card, passport, health insurance, and pretty much any form of identification. This world is getting too high-tech, I swear it's all going to end soon.
