Why are they wasting their time on this fugly rwd crap when they should concentrate on a badass small awd turbo 2dr hatch that can now compete in the WRC, now that's what i've been waiting for. Rally, Subaru, rally, not joint Toyobaru wannabe AE86 ****, drifting is sooo yesterday man. I want total power under control. Imho it's a bad business move for a company specialising in awd+turbo setups, vital things both missing on this new abomination. It ain't STi for sure, more like Tokyo Drift. Oh well, 06 forever then...

That doesn't really make sense. They already have the impreza, why would they try and build another of the same? It's not a drift car it's a sports car.

One of the problems with that "wish" is that Subaru would have a hard time in the WRC because their traditional 2.0L flat four layout is no longer allowed. The regulations that were forthcoming (1.6L inline engine, etc.) at the time of SWRT's pullout made their decision that much easier.

While I don't really like 2 door cars, this might bring new folks into the Subaru brand that are also enthusiasts. This, in turn, could help convince SOA to bring over/back the vehicles "we" want (Legacy GT wagon, Outback XT, Subaru Exiga, etc.) that SOA has discontinued or refused to bring over outright.

Yeah, i know what you're sayin', i'm a 'lil off on the motor specs but i just wished they had made their hatch a "back" & not a "wagon", if Pugeout & Citroen can make small, light, 2dr, turbo awd "true" hatchbacks then Subaru can too. That **** they made from 08+ just ain't right imho. Have you seen Hyundai's Veloster & Ford's Fiesta rallycross cars, pretty awesome. They look hella good & have monster awd power, unlike Subaru's ugly wagon. They need to wake up & start looking around at the competition, cuz the innovator of rally is getting left behind man. As for that new Toyobaru being a sport car, i hardly think of one as only rwd with only 200 hp NA. It's trying to be a wannabe drift type car, along with it's Toyota FT-86 sister. Remember Hyundai's failed attempt at that market with their Genesis coupe. Real enthusiasts crave awd turbo power from Subaru, giving their boxer motor to Toyota to use is a mistake imo. Subaru's slowly losing their quirkiness & uniqueness, lending their character elsewhere. These types of rwd cars trying to be sporty come & go, you'll see...
