Put it in the tallest gear, and run the lowest possible rpm to maintain the speed you need. take a sh*t before you get into your car. inflate your tires.

Buy a bike and be done with it. Forget hybrids.

Anyone else notice their cars getting better mileage lately? I keep track of MPG on mine and my GF's car religiously and both has gone up since early April. My WRX went from 23mpg to 25mpg, and her Mazda 6i went from 28mpg to 30mpg. I suspected my driving style was more gentle this month because of gas price, but my GF drives 100 miles a day and don't drive harder/softer to save gas.

Could it be due to the summer/winter gas thing?

This would be hard in something like a Z06. You would end up going through a set of rear brake rotors/pads every few weeks with trac on, or kill people with flying quarter panels and nasty smoke with trac off. I'll try this when I get my car back.

I get ****ty gas mileage either way, but in my parents acura I notice I get better if I do this rather than accelerate slowly. They somehow manage to get higher MPG than me either way, but they also do alot more freeway in it and when i drive it it's all city.
