GAUGING INTEREST: Laguna Seca Track Day (November '08)

So a buddy of mine is going to be throwing a track day at Laguna Seca and has asked me to help gather some people and spark some interest.

He's most likely going to end up choosing Monday, November 10th as the day. He's going to finalize this with them tomorrow morning, so I'll post once the day is final.

He's still trying to decide on what to charge, but right now he was thinking somewhere around $275. I've already talked to him, and he's told me that he'll give the group I can get together a discount if we get a substantial amount of people together. Now...what substantial is and what kind of discount...I have no clue just yet. It's all still kind of up in the air.

He is a photographer and will be offering photography services to those on the track. He's told me that those who sign up a month or more in advance will get a free 8x10 print and 50% off a CD with all their pictures on it. His website is www.extpictures.com

Anyway, I was wondering who all would be willing to participate should we have a track day at Laguna Seca, approx. $275, on Monday Nov. 10th? Again, the more people, the better price I'll be able to get.

Let's get a list going of those interested:

I would be interested, but don't put me down on the list. My decision is really subjective to what school is like and of course how comfortable I feel on the track.

Kevy-poo,

I put you on the list because this is simply an interest feeler kind of thing. This is in now way a definite yes or a signup list or anything, there's no obligation for those on the list. I just want a very raw number to tell my friend to see what kind of discount he'll give us and so we can get a number of spots available to us.

See, cool thing is this guy already has money. He's wanted to do a track day at Laguna Seca for a while, and now that this has come up, he wants to make it as available to everyone as possible. He's not trying to make money, he's just trying to recover the cost of what he's gonna have to pay.

well, we're still trying to figure it out. Somehow I got dragged into helping him organize this...so as it turns out, it's kinda my event too now...hehe.

Anyway, like I said, we're just trying to find the date now and how many people would be interested/willing to do it on a Monday and such...

Like I said, we aren't trying to make money on it, we're just trying to setup a track day and have some fun. Therefore, we have control on how packed it's gonna be...

It'd be cool to do Laguna Seca, but I think I need some more practice in my car before I do it. Spun out twice in THill. The thing is THill is a lot more forgiving than Laguna Seca.
