Gas Record?
Ok...
So on our little trip up to snowboard Jeff was the first guy on the boards to actually RECORD gas going for over $3.
So now...I think I might have hit a new record on fill up price.
I put $43 in my car yesterday....yeah....$43..no top off. Well 6 cents of top off.
anyone beat that?

FWIW, inflation adjusted the national record was $3.10/gallon back in 1980. And that is the national average. CA runs about 30-40 cents higher than national average on gas now.....probably about 15-20 cents higher back there.
So is it high now? Yep. Has it been higher before? Still yep.
I saw gas for $3.50/gallon on Hwy 1 near Big Sur last summer, when gas in the Bay Area was just a little over $2/gallon. I'm gonna wager a guess that that station is pushing over $4/gal now

that's nuts...need photos though.
Oh and the per gallon wasn't that bad. I've paid 2.98. I think that place was 2.86.
You'll see how empty I was..haaa. I was freakin out. I think I could have gotten another quarter gallon in if I topped off....just to show how empty I was. haaaa. no good.
There was a fello I-cluber at the station too. haaa. gruvbusta..not sure how it's spelled here though.

dont even ask me how much it cost me, i go 50/50 w/100+91 octane here in San Jose. Actually its not much more though because 91 is starting to get almost as expensive as 100.

I take BART most days. But with how crowded it's getting I like it less and less. I've got a bum knee but because I'm a younger dude I am expected to give up my seat or wait as long as possible to get one. Sometimes I end up sweating to death cause it starts to really bug me. On top of that I park in fremont and with the new pay parking up front I usually end up parking at the very end of the lot. Besides the fact it's like a quarter mile away it's just not safe. I've had my car broken into 3 times at BART.
I'm seriously thinking of buying an old cafe style bike and riding that to bart. Better gas mileage. Up front parking. Nobody will steal it...lock that sucker up. Etc.
Between my caddy and my sub...I don't get very good gas mileage. haa.
$44.50 had to be in S.F. If i paid 2.95 like most places in the city are I'd have been right there with you. I put something like 14.8 gallons in..haaaaa. no good.
