definitely an idiot light in MOST cars.... fortunately, the "idiot" light in this car comes on pretty early.
In the wrx... it comes on after you have used between 12.8 and 13.5 gallons. The tank holds 15.9 gallons. You have between 2.4 and 3.1 gallons til the tank is truly empty. After there is less than a gallon, you are, realistically "empty". With the gas moving around, your engine will flutter with that amout of gas. That having been said... with the gas that low.... you have 20 miles to find a gas station
here's to answering a question instead of flaming

in any stock civic you should be able to get 300 miles per tank even with driving hard.
That is what my old 89 Civic DX hatch would get, and my girlfriends 03 civic LX gets a bit more(tank is bigger though).
The furthest I ever drove in my civic on 1 tank of gas(mixed HWY and road) was 330 miles.
Now in my WRX the most ive driven on one tank is 310 miles, again gas light on.

I wasn't intending for my comment to be taken as a flame......her question just made me laugh, as the question was nearly identical, word for word to Kramers question. It brought a smile to my face on an otherwise crappy day.

Besides....
I heart princess
