Any updates to this. I need to do mine before we move in.

I'm looking for something super durable to chemicals... oil, gas, cleaners, etc.

I looked at the home depot stuff and it's getting terrible reviews. Lowe's has industrial stuff that looks decent. There are a million brands online and some of them look RAD! I'm looking at one called Legacy Industrial right now.

I want to do this once and not have to deal with it again for a long time. I'd prefer something that's not the normal light gray with ugly shake in it.... i.e. the home depot kit.

Anyone have recommendations?

Tutorial: How To Seal Your Garage Floor

This guys tutorial is great. The Quikrete kit can be tinted so it's not just the drab grey. He did his in blue. Looks nice. And as for the shake stuff, once you get the color down you can put whatever you want on top if you don't want that shake. This is the kit I plan to use when I seal my floors. Although in your case I would still recommend you look into an absorbant mat or something to put under your caddy's engine.

This is where I'm at. We're due to move in around the beginning of april and I want to do it while the garage is empty. Once I start filling it and building shelving it's over.

I'm gonna get in there and paint 2 of the walls and seal the floor while it's empty.

I seriously considered doing it green, tossing in a jar of green metal flake I have and then getting green shake and white glow in the dark shake... **** glows green! LOL! I tried to talk justin in to it. haaaaaa.

I want to basically do something that's dark gray.

I really wanted to do that.. but I would have had to do it before move in.

We have a 2 car garage and its DEEP. If the rear of the car is a couple inches in front of the garage door, there is about 10 feet between the front of the car and the wall to the house

Way too much stuff to put outside for 3 days to let everything dry properly

That's how my current garage is. Two cars in and you can still walk around in the back by the huge work bench and have space enough to build a motorcycle or hot rod in the corner. I had a table and chairs set up right there. Huge.

I'll miss it. My new garage is still pretty big though. It's a legit 2 car.

Yea I should have done it before I moved in. It already has a huge work bench and built shelving along one wall. I could probably move that stuff to the side yard for a couple of days, but I have a ton of other stuff. Car parts, books and baby stuff that I would have to move some place. Plus I would need to repair my floor cause it's got quite a few spots where they are chunks of concrete missing.

I could probably monopolize one of my spare bedrooms, I'll have to think about it. I almost thought of stacking everything on one side, do that side, then move everything back and do the other side.

I'm trying to find a place I saw a couple months ago. If I can I'll post it up. They had similar stuff and it was about $400 for a 2 car garage kit.

I think my garage is around 500 sqft

Edit- its about 19x25

So it would only be around $725 for the kit

So here is the deal, if you're going to use epoxy on your floor, you have to make sure you prep it properly. Most garage epoxy kits are alright, I would suggest going to a paint store like sherwin williiams and talking with someone there because they have higher end products. Keep in mind that paint sits on the surface and will eventually come off. Polishing the concrete and staining it is the best way. Acid staining is really cool and will last a really long time. Let me know if you have any questions, I am a Professional Coatings Representative for Sherwin Williams and I deal a bit with concrete polishing and decorative finishes.
