Makes logical sense, however, human behavior is not logical, and with the term "gay", it isn't referring to someone's sexuality, it's referring to something as being "whack", "bunk", etc... The N word isn't familiar with most folks and its a really sensitive issue... Not only that, but using it makes you look as though you have lower intelligence... Name one intelligent person who uses the word "*****" as a common phrase that has done well for him/her self, and no, the rappers aren't intelligent... I'm not talking about people with born talents either... I mean run of the mill person who worked hard because they were smart and built something, like Bill Gates... African Americans who say ****** to each other are ****ing stupid and don't understand how hurtful that word is to their grandparents, parents, and all the other millions of people who were enslaved and abused, and fought forcivil rights. But that's "ok", cause the ones that are happy using it hate it when non-blacks use it (hypocrites), and they are usually the ones doing crime, abusing women, and throwing 'Dees' on their cars. (I hate to generalize, but, c'mon now...)
if you want to be associated with morons like that, well, that's your choice. want to say ****** in your daily life, go right ahead!

would we have ever adapted the word "gay" as being a word for something that is "bunk" or "lame" if homosexuals didn't take it as a way to describe their sexual preference?? no.. we wouldn't have. we would have never taken a word that means happy and turned it into a word that means "bunk"
i am not homophobic by any means.. my point is you cannot say one word is bad because YOU feel that way and expect that to be the same among the community.
