Good news! We're officially one of their sponsors! They added us to another section of their website!
http://www.furryfriendsrescue.org/sponsors
Scroll about half way down and you'll see a link to i-club with a small section of text thanking us for donating money to them.
You guys made this all possible and I'm soooo proud of all of you. I work REALLY, REALLY hard to make this event happen each year, and why not take it a step further and help out a charity while we are all together and are able to gather donations through a means such as our raffle.
I hate to bring this up, but it's something that bothers me a bit. Before this last BAM I was talking to a particular member of this forum on the phone and he told me that there was a group of people who were accusing me of organizing BAM for my own selfish gains, calling me a liar and a cheat. They accused me of making a ton of money off the event (and if you knew how the event is actually run you'd know that I lose money more then I gain it). They demanded that I provide the names of the people who I was in contact with for the said charities and they wanted a break down of all the expenses for BAM, including food, rental costs, etc, etc. I obliged because I had nothing to hide, I provided all the facts and broke everything down and showed this person and his group of cronies that I did in fact use every single cent of the money that I was given to throw this event in a way that benefited the event, and only the event.
These accusations were not based off of any kind of facts, it was all hearsay that someone made up just to make me look bad. I don't know if it's jealousy or what, but it was totally malicious and intended to do everything in order to ruin my reputation. When I got that call from ****** I was really taken back and couldn't believe what I was hearing. The amount of time and effort I put into this event, I should make money off of it! I don't however and every cent I make goes directly to charity and this thread is proof of that.
Some of you guys wonder why I don't like organizing the event as I used to back when it was fairly new, and this is one of the main reasons. I try so hard to create something positive so that everyone can have something to look forward to each year since we don't have anything else in terms of annual events, and because of that I have to deal with people who have nothing better to do then to make up rumors and try to bring me down. I deal with this type of thing every single year and it's really screwed up that I have to deal with this sort of treatment.
The only thing that keeps me going is the positive feedback I get from the majority of you guys, those of you who come to the event to have fun and make the best of it. Seeing everyone smiling and having a great time is worth going through the negitive bashing from these people... I know it's only a handful of people who do this, but negative voices are always louder then positive ones, and it's always the bad stuff that stands out, you guys know what I mean.
Here's a HUGE thank you to my friends and members who make BAM into the great event that it really is! You are the reason I work so hard at making the event into what it is and I will continue to work as hard as I can to make you all happy regardless of how negative and malicious people will try to be.
Sorry for bringing that into this thread but I thought you guys had a right to know what goes on behind the scenes of this event. I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your participation in the event and if it wasn't for you I wouldn't even bother putting on such an event.
It's not just me thanking you, it's all the animals that YOU GUYS AND GIRLS saved! Even if you don't like me and want me to die, you don't have to attend the event because of me, attend the event to help out our less fortunate animal friends. After this past BAM and seeing how great everything went and how great of a donation we were able to give, there's no amount of negativity that can bring me away from pushing forward to create future events for you guys and for our animal friends.
Bravo to everyone who helped with the charity by playing in the raffle. I also want to give a HUUUUUUUUUUGE thank you to our amazing vendors who made all of it possible! Without them there's no way we could have even attempted to overtake such a task!
Let it be a lesson to everyone, no matter what the odds are, no matter how many people are against you, never give up and always press forward to reach your goal! The positive rewards will outweigh the negative annoyances, and BAM is proof of it.
The people at Furry friends as well as the Fremont Animal shelter asked me to personally thank all of you guys and girls for doing such an amazing thing to help them out. Maybe next year we can raise even more then this year?
I have a lot more planned for next year and I'm sure we'll have just as amazing prizes again!
Again, sorry I had to bring that up but I don't know how many people were lied to by this group of people and I wanted to make sure that they knew that it was all in fact lies that were created to ruin my reputation. This is the last I'll ever mention of this and I wanted there to be record of it. Can't we all just get along? We're all in BAIC together, we're all on the same side, why can't we all just be positive and have fun? We're not NASIOC, so lets please not act like them.
I like to believe that i-club is a different breed then those from NASIOC... I hope you guys do too.
In closing, thank you everyone for helping us gather $2,500 to help out countless animals by providing anything from food to medical attention. I know for a fact that without our donation animals would have died due to lack of funds. It's a really sad reality but you guys made a difference. By just helping a SINGLE cat or dog survive, we did our job and can be proud to have done it. Next year will be the same charity so lets hope that we can gain even more!
(I was thinking that next year we could have people gather donations by having people sponsor them, collecting $10 here, $10 there, and when we all combine it we could gain a ton of money to help out furry friends! How cool would that be?! I believe in you guys and I know we can do this if we put our minds together! Lets stay positive and put everything behind us and focus on helping out the greater cause!

I also wanted to mention that we're going to be doing the same charity next year since they REALLY need us and are hurting for money/supplies.
I was hoping that we could get some people to raise money at their jobs, sort of like people get sponsored for races and stuff to raise money for charities. That way we could get everyone to combine the money on the day of the event and we could donate a lot more then we did this year which would be INCREDIBLE!
These animals really need us and I know we can do it!
When the times comes, I will post a thread asking for volunteers so that we can raise as much money for the charity as possible!
Again, you guys are amazing and I'm so proud to be surrounded by such great people.
