Fuel injector question

I'm trying to figure out exactly what's the difference between cobbs 1000cc fuel injectors and injector dynamics 1000cc? There's a 100$ difference in price. Anyone know?

Nothing. Cobb's injectors are rebranded ID's.

So same exact flow characteristics but 100 more simply for Cobb name? You are positive? Yipes. I have to make a purchase soon prior to tune.

I think you'll find this often the case with Cobb Products. I think the only thing they actually "make" is the Accessport.

yes. if you look at cobb injectors in person they even have a ID logo embossed on them.

When I was talking to Travis he said the Cobbs are calibrated in closer percent ranges, or maybe they take the ones that are closest with highest CC output.

highly doubt this, imo it's just the name.

heedz, thats the info i got from travis too. but i wonder if the regular ID1000 would suffice for the install. i question how much difference it would truly make.

also another question to ask:
is it possible to install the fuel pump and injectors as DIY, then drive to tuning location, or will that be a problem? from san jose to Rocklin....

That's a hell of a long drive. FP you can do without any issues. Would not recommend injectors.

You'll be fine. Ask Travis for a limp map. I went with a new hybrid motor, injectors, fp, turbo and speed density.

re: bigger injectors, if you proportionately scale back injector pulse width... But that's a band aid solution I'd warily only use to get the car started or moved for very short distances. And you'd need to tune that with an Open Port or similar. And if you have to ask how to do that, don't, for the safety of you and your car.

Short anwser, no, just gotta trailer it or have them install on site. Doesn't take too long mind you.

Doing the pump yourself will be fine and might save a buck.

Fuel Injectors are fine with safe/break-in map. That's how I was breaking in my engine (with many other mods installed) before it was dyno tuned. 1000 miles. No problem.
