Free Beer!! in Santa Clara.

I thought I would try one more time... I really would like for someone to help me weld some steel strips onto my seat brackets to accomodate the seats. I would MUCH rather make it a learning experience rather than just take it to a shop for like $40. It's a very simple weld job, just perpendicular strips of metal.

I will buy a six pack of beer of your choice and bring it by when we can do the work. If you read my previous post, I am actually picking up an air compressor now and am going to buy an impact wrench, so that issue I will be able to do myself. It's way past time that I should start my air-tool collection anyway.

anyway, maybe my post title will help now? lol. I can help donate a few hours of my time to help you out with something as well if you would like? I am going to school to be an electrician, and am generally pretty handy with hand and power tools... I have just never welded before.

thanks ahead of time!

its funny, i have heard that from multiple people... it seems to be a tool that people don't really hold on too.

I also don't have a welder any longer. I'd also be willing to help if I still did.

While true states appear above it does seem I'm simply maintaining the status quo.

I have a portable welder and happen to love beer too, unfortunately I live way up in Napa. If you wanna come here we can split a 6er and weld whatever you want.

I have everything you need (TIG and stick) if you want to bring it to my house. I have no problem letting you try to do it yourself with a little instruction.

Are you just welding to the sheet metal of the car? Send me a pic. Edit: I see what your saying welding to the stock seat bracket. Are you gonna take them out of the car?
Steve

Eh you never know, it could be stripped if he's putting in aftermarket seats. And TIG doesn't throw sparks.

Steve, I have aftermarket brackets but they aren't the right ones for the seats I have. All I need to do is make some rails to bolt the sliders for my seats onto. I got some steel strips from OSH and can drill the holes myself, I just need them welded across the top of the aftermarket brackets... I'll snap a pic soon.

Discovery Bay, isn't that up near antioch? That's pretty far... and a time consuming drive. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the offer... I'll have to think about it.

Well I don't want to inconvenience you by driving an hour or so, but just offering free electricity, free consumables, and free welding equiptment to fix you suby out of the kindness of my heart, lol... Im sure a six pack would equal what I'm giving you, lol. But your more than welcome...I just got love for my folks.

no no, I absolutely appreciate the offer, I just have school 4 hrs/day and work 8hrs/day, and I've been having a hard time finding any chunk of time larger than 3-4 hrs to get anything done. Driving somewhere in the south bay and getting it done and driving back, that could be done in 3-4 hrs. I may just end up at a shop... but we will see.

I know, the free beer ad was misleading... its just no one was responding to my previous post. sorry for that.
