If you've never wet sanded a car before do NOT try it on your car! That is something you want to learn on an old beater or you could pick up a panel from a junk yard to practice with.
I would give Leo @ Detail Addict a call and explain what happened. They can try some aggressive compounds first and if needed move to wet sanding. They can definitely buff that out for you though and it will look good as new when done

Thanks guys....
Well, clayed the car. Took off what the wash didn't get (not much left but whatever.)
Out comes the compounds... by hand unfortunately. I wish I had a damm buffer.
Fine cut - no dice. clear coat is wrinkly.
Medium cut - nope.
I'm staring at my abrolon 4000 pad. Its soaking right now.....
grrrrrr

I know detail addict is the drug of choice around here, but you might also consider Autosport Detailing in Santa Rosa. It would not be any further to drive up there from Marin - I also live in Marin, but I work in SR - and I've had incredible service from Autosport on my last 3 cars as well as my wife's. They do tons of high dollar hot rods, muscle cars, and euro stuff - lots of wine money in this neck of the woods.
