Flying plywood hit my car!!!!!!!!

Just cruising on my way home, listen to Tom Lykus when all of a sudden a piece of plywood come out from under a truck a nails my hood. I hit my brakes and tried to avoid it but it happened too fast.... A nice little dent and some scratches....

Anyone know the cost difference between a OEM Suby hood and a aftermarket carbon fiber? maybe it's a sign....

Any idea if the scoop I have now will fit on a carbon fiber hood?

Just an FYI, my insurance rep told me if the object is airborn, it is a collision deductable and DOES NOT count against your insurance rates. However, if it wasn't airborn, you're SOL. I have Mercury btw

good luck with a replacement

If it's a direct stock replacement, I'd think it should. It all depends on the hood though. Will you be painting the CF hood or leaving it black, if you leave it black, you need a CF STi scoop.

Akira...mercury is bomb. I've got nothing but good to say about them...though I wish my insurance was about $30 a month cheaper...$170 a month hurts.

Stock replacements are not cheap. If you can salvage your hood scoop that will help some.

CF is cheaper but if you plan to paint it you might as well go with the stock.

Talk to your insurance. See if they are willing to give you a check for the cost of a factory hood. Might be able to get the CF and paint it or get a CF and a new toy.
