Thumbs up Finally... Speed Channel in SF

Comcast has finally begun offering Speed Channel in SF! $5 per month for their 'digital sports' package... why it took so long I don't know but the wait is thankfully over. Now I can get my WRC, F1 and MotoGP fix from the comfort of my own home.

Congrats! I live in the East Bay and have had the Speed Channel for a while. It is too bad that so much of the Speed Channel is devoted to NASCAR. I think I need a WRC and F1 channel.

There's not enough programming for a dedicated WRC/F1 channel. There's probably a NASCAR event three or four times per day somewhere in the country, if it ain't raining.

There wasn't enough programming to make an all NASCAR channel, until Fox bought speed channel and made it so.

you'd get the impression there are 4 Nascar races per day, but its like any of the other race series. (only a lot more boring)

There are far more rally events- every day- around the world, but nobody in the USA cares.

I've had it in SF for like 2 years.

As for a WRC channel, heh. I am so tired of the WRC hype. There's so much more touring stuff going on out there that gets little to no coverage. And what ever happned to JGTC? :P What gets old with WRC is its the same cars, in the same class with the same drivers (who move from team to team) ever year.

Did you watch the 12 hours of LeMans or whatever it was? At Sebring was it? Man sweet cars, 4 classes. TOTALLY BORING. I think that was most boring mass of hours of racing I've ever paid any attention to. It makes watching autocross seem exciting

Exactly. This is why I will not miss getting the Speed Channel when I move into my new place. All Speed Channel ever plays is NASCRAP this and NASCRAP that. Their WRC coverage has also gone down the tubes. It has gotten worse and worse for the last 3 years. And now they are following the role of other channels by having their own reality TV show with people building their own motorcycle with all the dama and action. LAME!

I used to be a big fan of the Speed Channel, but no longer.

i don't have an attention span long enough to watch a 12 hour race.

even for f1 races i don't watch the whole thing. qualifying + the first and last 10 laps of the race because if anything's going to happen, that's when it happens.

Have had Speed Channel for about 4 years back when it was Speed Vision too but it came via DirecTv. For $5 a month? Comcast is the DEVIL. Well, congrats, enjoy! Oh BTW, Comcast is the DEVIL.
