Finally, MOAR COWBELL!

Name: cowbell27dx.gif
Views: 14
Size: 127.4 KB

Deck: Alpine 9857 w/ipod nano hooked directly to it.

Amps:

1. Alpine MRP-F450

1. Alpine MRP-M850

Speakers:

Fronts: Boston Acoustics SL60 2-way with crossovers

Rears: Boston Acoustic SX65 (not much would fit do to the slim profile)

Subwoofer: 1 12" Kicker CompVX w/12" COMP VR Box

It's not the highest end system but my highs are clear and my lows make me need to take a deuce. All that combined with never switching CD's (not one single cd in the car) makes this sytem suit me nice.

Only rattles are rear view (and it's BAD) and the truck lid. Need to buy a lil dynamat and silcone a few things and BAM!

Just thought I would share as it took me 2yrs to assemble and install all of this paycheck by paycheck.

The only thing I think I will change, and I am in no hurry, is I want that new Alpine Ipod only Deck. No CD's, just IPOD and Sattelite Radio

/showing off thnx for looking.

Now I just need to find a better way than a bungie cord to keep my sub from flying around. I had 2 12"'s back there and had no trunck room, that's why I moved up to the single 12. Anyways this one out performs the other 2 12''s by far!

It seems like yesterday you were going over what you were getting/having it put in. Why're you selling it?

sounds like an ah hell man......waiting to happen to me.

You're on the road..new cd comes out...buy it...listen to it...get home and ipod it. I usually have a couple cd's around that aren't on my ipod. Or say someone says..he check this out....you can pop it in. etc.

what happens if something like this happens........your ****ing ipod breaks......

my just did. I've had nothing for like a week now but the few cd's that were in my car. no cd player....no tunes. I hate the radio.

good concept...won't ever touch my car....not unless it's a pure add on to another deck but in that case it doesn't make sense....just do a hard drive.

Any one familar with the 3 adjustments on the amp?

1. Input Gain Adjustment Control
2. Bass EQ Adjustment ****
3. Crossover FQ Adjustment ****

Anyone know where a good place to set these if i listen to a lot of rap and rock with good amounts of cowbell(bass)?

I don't do radio. Even satelite radio. Besides...that's a monthy fee. I'd still rather have the cd option. I like it all man. No cd...no go for me. I like to listen to **** on my way home from bestbuy. I download VERY little music.

nice! I've had a similar setup for years now (since the 9835 came out in 2003) and it's awesome not having to deal with CDs at all. Just plug-in the ipod and go! Now I'm waiting for the 9887... bastards sure do take their time.

Ahh, see, I'm the exact opposite, I download all my music. And if I can't find it online, I'll borrow the CD from a friend and do it that way. I'm all about my iPod in my car, I don't think I've ever even used the CD player feature on my Alpine deck

If you dont mind loosing your spare you can have a enclosure built in the spare tire area that will work pretty good for a single woofer and still have your trunk space. im considering that on my wagon cus my box takes up 1/2 the trunk.
or a custom box made on one side that is secured to the body structure.
