Smile Finally got some tunes...

I think I waited longer than anyone else to throw a stereo into an '04 STi...

I picked up my STi back in late January, and its taken this long for me to get some damned tunes!!!

I picked up an unused stock Head Unit, Upgraded speakers and tweeters, from someone's new '05 STi, for cheap.

The new head unit looks different than the ones from '02-04, and has 140W vs. 80W with the older ones. It also doesn't play cassettes, but then I don't listen to those anymore...

The sound is clean, and the head unit allows midrange adjustments. Unlike the older HU, it doesn't have the annoying distorted bass.

I picked up tweeter mounts and speaker clips from these guys:

They have some good stuff to help you install aftermarket stereo equipment into subarus.

It's nothing crazy obviously, just an upgraded stock system, because I know how far-out I would go with an aftermarket system, and I didn't want to add all that weight, or spend thousands of dollars...

No seriously, if I were to install a system in my car it would be rediculous, with how much good components, amps, and head units cost. And this would be with me doing all the fabrication and installation.

thanks for the link though, I'll get around to something in the next few years...
