LOL. i'm going i've missed this place. "thanks" for digging that up. i would say i forgot all about it, but i was just in SoCal twice in the last 3 weeks. i even cruised by DIC's.... i mean, VIC's in El Monte while going to the Santa Anita Mall. that guy sure is a piece of work.

Man Curtis you deserve way more cred. You left a negative yelp review that went viral before the creation of yelp and perhaps saved many people from going to Vic's. Let YORE co-worker know how famous the bug eye is in terms of internets review. Good times!

in santa rosa, I will only bring my car to discount tire. I will tell you why in person. it includes lug nuts left loose and stripped/crossthreaded wheels by the other guys

Discount Tire in SR is the least expensive place that I've had tires mounted/balanced as well. Hell, they even patched a tire that I purchased from Tirerack for free because I had them mounted and balanced there. I will very likely be ordering a new set of tires from them in the next month too.

thanks, i rather have not been the martyr/sacrificial lamb, but if my CRAPPY experience at DIC's..... i mean, VIC's Discount Tire - El Monte, helped expose that sorry excuse for a business, then so be it. i'm sure he/they are still preying on other unsuspecting folks though, esp from looking at the recent Yelp reviews.

now, that I totally forgot. i registered at VW Vortex back then just to give people the lowdown.

chalk it up to ignorance, convenience, not doing people's homework. DIC... i mean, VIC, will get his someday. karma is a you know what. he's gonna screw over the wrong person someday, if he hasn't already. i'm sure he's made a bunch of new friends over the years.

glad you guys had good experiences at the other DT locations. apparently, some of them are independently owned. As you can see, Discount Tire - El Monte SUCKS! i wouldn't send my worst enemy there.



anyway, back on topic. been a few days and feeling a little better about sending my WRX to its new home. i just told my co-worker to let me know if they ever decide to sell it though. he told me, "Not a chance! (My) wife LOVES it!" no surprise because it was cherry in and out. i had the both bumpers refinished & repainted to fix the few flaws it had from careless SF parkers. they really got a gem.
