Yeah, I'm having a hard time deciding what to watch tonight. The season is over. The've already declared Loeb the winner. Why watch? It's like watching an off season baseball game. It's just not the same.

I watch because even though I root for Petter to win championships, my real hope is for Subaru to take the Manufacturer's Championship (next year). The drivers to me are just a part of the team effort. I've been watching Mikko Hirvonen's performance in this season's rallies and he's only scored points in half the rallies. He's just way outpaced by both Petter and the other drivers. I'll watch to see if he does better in Catalunya. If Mikko doesn't show better results by next season they should replace him. Both drivers need to score regularly to achieve the Manufacturer's title for Subaru.

If Ford pulls out, SWRT should consider picking up Martin or Duval if Hirvonen can be let out of his contract (of which I don't know the details).

Hirvonen doesn't have a contract for next year, just a 'promise' from SWRT head David Lapworth that he most likely has a seat next year.

Lapworth has also mentioned that he would love Martin or Duval, but doesn't feel he has the budget to offer them the same salary that the French teams can. Its also widely rumored that Martin is definitely going to Peugeot, regardless of Ford's decision to stay in the WRC (should be an official announcement next week sometime, Nov. 2 IIRC).

Duval says he's interested to stay with Ford as their Number 1, but he's also been in talks with Citroen (rumored most likely alternative), Skoda and Mitsubishi.
