Few questions from fittings to knock

Maybe some of you guys could help educate me a bit here.

1) I have a 3 inch turbo inlet hose. Unfortunately the stock one is 2.4 inch I believe. Can I use a coupler to reduce the 3 to 2.4 or should I just get a new inlet? I dont want to go to a CAI yet and use the stock airbox

2) What size are the intercooler coupler and turbo L (Y) pipe?

3) Im seeing some weird knock that happens inconsistently on my car. Im trying to figure out whether it could be related to taking out the GBODs or the fact that my intercooler and the bracket underneath arent bolted together. Can rattle cause weird intermittent knock in higher gears? First, second and third pull amazing with 0 fb/flk but in 4th and 5th I see some fb/flk here and there. IAM is holding steady at 16.

Thanks for your help!

What do you mean you want to reduce it in order to use the stock airbox?

I ran the 3 inch Perrin inlet and my stock airbox with no problem. I just bought the Gimmick aftamaf hose and it worked perfect.

So you definitely CAN run a 3 inch inlet to the stock airbox.

Pretty sure the one we traded for was 3 inch and that fit fine. Wrxbrah's inlet seem way bigger than mine. We test fitted it and the sucker has too much play

Sorry I meant on the turbo side. It sits pretty loose on there. Is that normal and just needs to be tightened down a ton? Just doesnt seems like a good fit. This is a gimmick inlet btw. Picture attached and sorry its huge

Oh nvm, no it should barely be able to slip on the turbo. It should be a pretty tight fit. It definitely should not be that loose!

I wouldn't risk a leak post-maf pre-turbo. That type of leak will let unmetered air into the system, which will cause the car to run lean. I'd get the correct part and not worry about a leak.
