To be serious...here is my logic...it ready depends on how you market it and the ultimate interested parties.
Option 1 (Worst Case Scenario) - Someone outside the community unfamiliar with you or the car...or even worst a high school kid looking for a mad tyte fast turbo car to decimate all...will view this as an unfinished/half-arsed beat on swap. Especially since it does not have all of the creature comforts nor a "more desirable" 2.5L WRX or STi power train. It will be looked at as a money pit project...which is why you would probably see $7-10k offers.
Option 2 (Better Case Scenario) - Someone within the community with serious racing intent that comprehends its functionality (over form), potential and proven track record...and would be willing to pay for all that additional intrinsic value. Then the price could be much higher since it would be seen as a turn key ready to race sorted reliable race car IMHO Mid- and may be into the high $-teens...We will also ignore the "built not bought" issue for the sake of this scenario.
Option 3 (Best Case Scenario) - Part the thing out. Exactly how Matt is doing right now. I am sure there will be more interest in the rolling chassis for people that want to build up a 22B replica. People needing swap parts. Etc etc etc
That's my opinion...

I feel like I'm in Option 2 but there are parts of the car that bug me. Stuff like the fender cracks and the lack of speaker wire (seriously, the speaker wire?!).
But I would want this car to continue to drive the **** out of it. For me it wouldn't be a built/bought situation. It would be a, "I have Gagan's car! Muhahaha!"

I'm in a similar boat.
I'd sell mine if someone showed up with 14k cash (or cashiers check) and lived minimum 100 miles away from me.
Odds are I'm going to be buried in my GC because I simply cannot let it go.
If the car is killing you to keep it, get rid of it. Other than that its a family heirloom

b) To each their own...Half my cars don't have sound systems and I do not really use them in the ones that do. It is a huge driving distraction to me.
Again, everyone is different. I am sure it is a big deal breaker to some more than others...

I agree with the 12-15k range. The fact that it has a winning pedigree pushes it to the higher end but the need for paint and some amenities (but of course race car!) counterbalances back to maybe 13k?
As a parent with driving age kids I can tell you that the last 10 years flew by very quickly. If you have the financial means to keep the car I would recommend that route only because you've put some much time and effort into it. That being said, your knowledge, ability, and will to do a project car in the future is something to consider when the time comes.
Best of Luck!

I think people would look at like I do and think it's a POS... but drive it, and you'll realize it's something much more.

I'd put a stereo in it. It would be a pain. But I would do it.
I don't know how to fix the paint/cracks though. How much chassis bracing to you have back there?

Yeah, I just feel like it's wasted as it is. Someone can enjoy it right now. I think I'll take it for a drive this week if I can.
Keeping it would be fine. I don't need the money, I just don't feel like keeping around to keep it around.
I love it. So I should set it free... just, for a price.

Do you think more bracing would help? Help handling, help minimize the flex and be easier on the body?
For real, I could keep it warm for you. Pick it up Sunday morning, bring it back Sunday night.

Um, that would make it worse. The more rigid you make the car, the more of that force is going to go into the body.
Sad
This car is a ton of fun. Well sorted and easy to drive. Really one of the most fun cars I've had the chance to autox. Shoot I'd buy it if I had the space for it haha

It's paid for. With life the way it is you'll never have the money to start over. Trust me.
Don't sell it, I promise you you will regret it. I nearly sold my caddy a couple times and I think about it now and I go man... I'd never be able to put together the "spare" money to buy another one and start over. And if I could I wouldn't feel right about it.
Doesn't matter what it's worth. Don't sell it unless you're taking every damn penny and buying another "toy/project" with it. Period.
