F'ed up my engine, need a new one... any suggestions or leads?
Hi all,
Was prepping my car, getting it ready for BAM/me being out of the country. Things got delayed after buying a house and I finally got the thing put back together and started her up. Not a good sound/idle. Towed it over to EQ tuning today and they did a leak down and well, bent valve in #3 though the timing belt was installed correctly in the end (must have messed up somewhere along the way though). So now I need to decide ASAP what to do so they can get to work.
1. Anyone have a donor ej20 for sale?
2. Anyone have an ej20 or even an ej257 short block for sale either bone stock or built?
3. On a ej257 with wrx heads, will it need upgraded injectors to run/tune?
Thanks all. It's been a hell of a ride making what seems to be a several thousand dollar mistake. Not what I needed at the moment. Time for a beer.

That's the one! The truck lift is on cusco forester coils. the fender and bumper cover are in my garage (big door ding on the right front passenger side so I have a donor door waiting to go on hence the lack of fender). The carwash is 8 months overdue. I miss her in her running state.

damn, that sucks! Sorry to hear, just happened all the sudden? Any mods or tune? You say it happened after the T-belt install?

If you have a bent valve, why do you need a shortblock.
Pull the engine out, remove the ONE cylinder head, and fix the valves.
Should cost you about $1000.

Yeah originally had it lifted for trips down to baja (on stock fxt struts soon fs). Yeah, the engine problem happened all of a sudden after a T-belt install, mods were just an sti uppipe, axle back, short downpipe, sti tmic and hoses. Was running that with an xede shelf map. During the T-belt install I did a perrin pulley, turbo inlet, pnp td04, and a pnp oem exhaust manifold and planned on a road tune from EQ, so nothing crazy power output wise just trying to get the spool up minimized since it's a 4eat. Rationale for the block was that some of the other leakdown numbers were slightly high and it was presented as an option while headwork has to be done anyways. Still need to decide what to do in the morning time.

You'll only need upgraded injectors if you're running a larger turbo. You can get away with the stock injectors on the TD04 even with a 2.5l.
Thanks
