Fear This, Speedring
Does everybody (but me) know all about the NEW indoor Kart center in south Fremont? It is just about to open and should be lots of fun... www.lemanskarting.com . Maybe we could meet there instead of KKUC (if it is raining and you're afraid of getting wet). Make it a weekly thing too. There is also "City Beach" if you like rock climbing and all the other things there. Don't forget to go to the website to sign-up for a free session, whatever that means.

Does anyone have more info than what's on their website site? I'm interested in knowing:
-when they open
-how much it costs
-what types of racing/practice formats they have
-if they offer the same equipment as speedring (helmet, suit, etc.)

I just got back from talking to Brad (an owner) and Trevor (the manager) and they want to open soon...they were supposed to open Wednesday but Friday to Monday is more likely. They should be cheaper than Speedring (their prices may come down too because they're having problems) but still not finalized. May be a 4 min practice with 9 min of race. I saw helmets and heard driving suits, but they are not set up and DON'T want a bunch of people there till they open. I did hear 10 sessions for $75, but again, this is not the last word. I told them I could get a bunch of voluteers to work the "bugs" out and give their engines the "proper run-in", and they laughed
They have 9hp motors (highly "detuned" 227cc motors), with 22 seconds the track record. The track is wider than speedring and they are working on an "outdoor" section for summer that almost doubles the track length. Did anyone on the board go to the "grand opening party"? It was last friday and not for the public, but they did invite many "car club people".
What about the "indoor kart track" opening near the airport (SFO)? Who has the inside info on that one? Did I just miss that post also?

Hello,
Two threads on the same subject?
> We are offering open practice sessions for $16
> for 9 mins. and Sprint races for $35 dollars —
> 10 lap qualify then a 16 minute race!
That's what they wrote me.
