At five I would have taken Drew Brees. He's far and away going to be the top point getter this year at any position. Only person that stands a chance of competing is Brady.

The RB position is DEEP this year.

Hell I like the 5th pick because you get to pick 2 picks pretty close together. I was 3rd this year and it sucked because I got a good number one but by the time my 2nd pick came around it was thin for a second pick. Sucks.

But I got lucky at 3. I was actually gonna pick Brees and then pick Gore up as my 2nd pick but the 1st pick took Brees. 2nd took turner. I ended up with Peterson at 3. Couldn't pass it up.

My team right now... I might move a couple people around to ensure depth. Get some back ups to my starters.

QB
Aaron Rodgers (not sure why but I took Rodgers over Brady)
Shaun Hill

WR
Andre Johnson
Eddie Royal
Wes Welker
Santana Moss
Crabtree (if he doesn't sign by mid next week I'm gonna go pick up G.Coffee. Might do it today anyways)

RB
Adrian Peterson
Ronnie Brown
Kevin Smith
Marshawn Lynch
Ahmad Bradshaw
Chester Taylor
Julius Jones
Correll Buckhalter

K
David Akers

TE
Jason Witten

DEF
Philly
Dallas

I'm deep at RB but I only have one guy that's a guarantee barring injury. WR I'm o.k. because we're points per reception and Welker is the man. Solid at TE, just have to pick up a guy for the bye. QB is thin... very thin but as long as rodgers plays as well as he did last year I'll be o.k. I think he'll be better. Defense is shakey.

I think I'll be lucky to finish in 3rd or 4th this year. I won it last year. Small league of homies.

I wouldn't mind doing a second league but I've had bad luck in every other league I've done. 2 or 3 guys not playing and what not. Sucks.

No kidding... I was blown away. I had Brees Q'd up because I knew the top 2 backs where gone and the fight for number 3 is about 6 backs deep in my opinion. Then I was like... wait... AD is available. Swipe.

Crazy.

I think I missed a couple shots at guys I should have taken. I took a TE one round to early. I missed Gore and Roddy White. Two guys I had my eyes on and had a chance to grab. Not sure if taking rodgers over brady was a good idea either. haaaa.

We did one last year and it feel apart. Had I think about half the players not really participating so it just screwed up the flow of the whole league. And we kept going back and forth on paying in for a top 3 split the pot league.

I'd be down to try again but if it starts going like it did last year I'm out.

Gotta do the draft pronto if we're gonna do it.

I was in an i-club one a couple years ago and same thing, people just didn't play. I hate it when owners don't play.

Sounds fun but I am already in 3 leagues. Last draft is tonight.

Have you guys done an auction draft? It's cool.

Gore got taken literally the pick before I was gonna take him. I had him and jacobs qued up and they went the 2 picks before me so I think I ended up taking Ronnie Brown. And with Roddy I ended up taking Eddie Royal.

I had Roddy White and Andre Johnson last year and DOMINATED the WR category for the season.

Gah....I'm sitting on the 3rd pick in the draft and I know the 1st pick is taking A.P. So now that will leave a combination of MJD, Turner or Forte to take. I'm just not sure who I should go with given each scenario:

1) MJD vs Forte?
2) MJD vs Turner?
3) Turner vs Forte?
4) Or if by some random chance all 3 are there - MJD, Turner & Forte?

This is a PPR League - 1 Point Per Reception.

I'm leaning towards
1) Forte over MJD
2) Turner over MJD
3) Forte over Turner
4) Forte over both others

Should I consider differently?

MJD only had 2 games over 100 yards rushing last year & 9 games where he was under 50 yards rushing. One thing about MJD's production last year those is that 2 of the starting Offensive Lineman went down with injuries in the first game of the season last year (I believe it was both starting Guards) which made Jacksonville have a much harder time rushing the ball all year long.

Forte had 3 games over 100 yards rushing last year & only 4 games where he was under 50 yards rushing.

Turner had 8 games over 100 yards rushing last year. However, he only had a total of 6 receptions the entire year. So he is definitely more of a standard RB vs the much more versatile MJD & Forte.

Gahhh, I don't know what to do with Pick 3. Any advice?

Peterson, Turner, Forte, MJD. The 5th spot is tough.

If you have the 5th who would you take?

If the first 4 are not those guys who are they?

Non PPR, standard points with 4 points for TD pass.
You left out Frank Gore. the 49ers will be using him as the centerpiece of their offense since their passing game is mediocre with Hill as the starter. If their O-line stays healthy, he should be a point getter this season.

For me, if Turner is there, take him. While a back that can both catch and run is great, Turner is just that good of a pure runner, just like AD. You wouldn't think twice about AD at #3 even though he is a pure runner right? However, my draft went AD, then Turner, and I was in the 3rd spot, so I took MJD. Like you said, MJD lost 2 OL, but remember he was sharing carries with Fred Taylor. However, he's now a feature back behind a healthy OL. IMHO, MJD > Forte.

Out of curiosity, what pick # were you? I've never played an auction style before, but those RB look extremely high risk to me.

In an auction there is no draft position. You bid on any player and the highest bid wins.

In our draft, we had a draft order but that just simply was used for nominating the player for the bid.

Example, I have the first pick and I put in a bid of $20 for AP. At that point everyone has the right to start bidding, highest bid wins.

There is strategy involved, let's say I have not interest in getting Brandon Marshall. So when it's my turn in the "draft order" I put a bid of $1 for Marshall. People will start bidding and you will get people to spend money on a player that you do not want.

Auction drafts is the shizz.
