Famous Quotes
What, if any, quotes from history, famous people, or just average joe citizen, have shaped how you view the world. What I mean by this is, a quote that you find yourself admiring, or even living your life by.
One come to mind for me, that are ones I strive to live every day...
"Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear." - Thomas Jefferson
However another quote tends to sum up my view on politics quite well...
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the outcome of the vote.
-Benjamin Franklin

Anything that Teddy Roosevelt said:
"Thrice happy is the nation that has a glorious history. Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

I'm a fan of Jefferson and Franklin too;
"Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies."- T.J.
"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." -B. F.
Mark Twain was another good source;
"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do. "
Wait.... well, one of those guys said it anyway
What list of quotations can omit Friedrich Nietzsche?
"What does not destroy me, makes me strong."
- Nietzsche
Some things apparently haven't changed in a few hundred years:
"Only sick music makes money today."
- Nietzsche
I'll finish with one from Oscar Wilde;
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."

"You are never dedicated to something you have complete confidence in. No one is fanatically shouting that the sun is going to rise tomorrow. They know it's going to rise tomorrow. When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any other kinds of dogmas or goals, it's always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt."
