Well I have a 2002 with the stock stereo and it just died , it just shut off one day.I checked the fuses and thats all good, so my question is, anyone have thiers die on them, and how the heck do i get my CDs out?Also any good suggestions for a new stereo. Thanks guys and gals

 

if it just pooped out and will not power on at all.... i think your going to be SOL to get the cds out... the only way i think would be to tear it apart. That happened to my with an aftermarket deck. It was still under warranty so they replaced it but couldnt do anything about my cds. And because it was warranty they had to send it in and couldnt take my ish out

 

If it is really dead try a hammer or some other large and fun object to get the cds out! And if you get a new one get something that has an ipod hook up or plays mp3s off cds so you can make a cd with 200~ songs on it.

 

So looks like i get to tear it apart then.Now i gotta start looking at Crutchfield for a new head unit.Anyone have a favorite brand model that they really like?There is a nice Clarion for $250 with iPod dock, USB, etc., and a really nice pioneer for $450 ,both on Crutchfield.

 

i love alpine decks, i dont know which one i have but it was $200 last year and it comes with ipod dock but no usb

Hey if you are in the area (santa rosa) you can have my stock 02 stereo until you get something. It's your for ummm say $5 a high five and a small bottle of water?
If that doesn't sound good I'll take the $5 and the high five or the $5 and the bottle of water and if that still doesn't sound good I'll take the high five and bottle of water... but because I don't care... I'll take the high five. That is as low as I'll go!

Oh, and as far as installs go I know a guy who does good work. Ruelh just got his alarm installed by them yesterday but he hasn't given me word on what he thinks. These guys will be installing my alarm and Pioneer F90BT.

 

i got a refurbished and its been good so far.

no blemishes or scratches, i bought it from the out of state seller to avoid taxes too

ill pay them later

 

Wow, I've always been a fan of Alpine and generally have 100% alpine setups in my cars but that deal may be too hard to pass up for my next headunit...
