Damn, ralf has been driving for toyota for like 3 years now

I'm guess BMW will actually run Timo Glock instead of Sebastian Vettel. Timo has more racing experience.

Alonso cursed the effect the safety car had on the race, saying: "It always makes the races a lottery and you need luck.

"I had to stop on lap 24, and the safety car came out on lap 24, I had to stop on lap 49-50 and it came out on lap 47, and that was the race for me.

"My team-mate benefited the most. As I said, the safety car is a lottery and there can't be a race where you are more out of luck than I have been.

"There will be other times when it will be my turn to have a good race and the rest will have all the bad luck."

What a bitter little *****... i had a feeling his true colors would show today. I hope Hamilton takes this championship and sticks to 'em (If Kimi can't make some sort of comeback of course)

Anthony Davidson, Super Aguri (11th):
“It is such a shame about the beaver. It had it in for me for sure! I was running in third place at the time, behind the safety car. I was on a clear, one stop strategy and it damaged the front wing. I couldn’t even see it at high speed and I could not understand why suddenly I locked up the front tyres and so I had to come in to the pitlane. The guys were taken by surprise in the garage when I came in, but they were really on it with the race strategy after that, telling me to overtake the safety car to get my lap back and it was a really enjoyable race at the end. I hope Kubica is okay because I saw the accident from the other side of the road. The race was complete carnage from the word go and I'm just happy to have made it to the end. I equalled my best result and it is great news for the team who did a great job today. I was out there on the option tyre, realised there was lots of graining and reported it to the team. I came in under the safety car to change the tyres and before Taku had even done any fast laps they knew to change the tyres back to the prime and the tyres paid off. It was really good team work so I am extremely happy.”
Apparently not the beaver that F1 drivers typically pick up at Grand Prix's

I guess some of Alonso's quotes can be interpreted as sour grapes. I think what is important to McLaren International are the Constructors' points, much like how SWRT views the championship in the WRC. One of two drivers on a team winning a championship is second in priority to winning the Constructors championship. Ideally, both drivers will score as many points as possible in each event.

I'm not an Alonso fan. I rooted for Schumacher to take a final championship before retirement last season. I do think that Alonso always shows more sportsmanlike conduct than one Juan Pablo Montoya ever did on the track. Though Alonso committed several driving errors at Montreal, I thought that he showed professionalism and when he gave ground to Sato at the end, rather than close the door on the guy just because Sato's often considered a lesser player, at least in the press. I mean, any multiple World Champion has to swallow his pride when it comes to giving up a position in the last lap of the race. That one additional point means a lot to each driver and team.

I'm glad JPM has left F1 for greener pastures. Cow pastures in the infield to be more specific.

I'd also like to say that I'm glad that Fox retained the services of Bob Varsha, David Hobbs, Steve Matchett, and Pete Windsor for race commentary. Nothing ruins a live race more than having Sam Posey or Paul Page in the booth.

I don't think he gave sato anything. Steve Matchet was probably correct in the fact that his braking was severly affected by marbles, as he did keep an inside line, forcing sato to pass on the outside. If he wanted to let him by, he'd have pulled way out of the way and lifted.

His constant offs showed that he was desperate to gain back ground on Hamilton. Im sure he is tired of hearing about it, and I'm sure that he knows Hamilton has a good chance or taking a championship.

I guess if Flavio takes you on, and makes you into a two time champion, and then you leave him, you are destined for a few bad years. happened once before, looks like it may happen again

Alonso didn't force Sato to do anything. It's the job of the driver overtaking to secure the position from the car in front. Sato did so very decisively. We didn't see any of the shenanigans like Prost/Senna at Suzuka many years ago because both Sato and Alonso know that you don't play mind games when passing or being passed.

Gagan, you baffle me! How can you hate on a double world champion like Alonso, who has spanked EVERY teammate he's ever had and beat Schumacher in his prime....twice, then turn around and support a winless, crash happy loser like Sato?

He deserved the 2006 champtionship, but not the 2005. McLaren let Kimi down, and Kimi would have been champion in 2005.

As good as he is, I've never liked his personality entirely. There was just something about him, something that just bugged me. I felt that should a teammate show him up, he would get into a fit, and now that hamilton is doing just that, i think it's showing. Lets face it, he drove like Eddie Irvine most of the race, pushing hard trying catch up to someone who was simply BETTER than he was. I don't think he likes lewis too much, I think he is being nice, but he hates having someone that good next to him. I'm just not a Fernando kinda guy.

Sato isn't a loser. No one in F1 is a loser, I wish i had the driving skills these guys have. To put them down on their driving isn't really something WE can do, we are nowhere near their skills.

Now, I'll bash someone's personality all day long. Sato is a stand up guy, and even under shame and all the pressure of his home country on him, he's still trying his best.

Alonso is a great driver, true, but i look past stats and such when I chose whom I like and whom I dislike. Their behavior and attitude mean a lot to me.

That's why I love Senna, and not Michael. Sato, and not Fernando.
