Have those receipts? IF anything see if SC subaru can garnish receipts for your filters and make a psuedo log of the mileage and date you changed it corresponding to those receipts

Read the fine print...is it really SOA or a third party? A lot of times these extended warranties are sold by what amounts to insurance companies.
Either way, it totally sucks.

It's an SOA gold class warranty. Purchased directly from the dealership. The dealership said specifically SOA is regecting the claim.

Seriously though, 2-3 G's is a bit on the high end for a replacement tdo4. Heck for that price go rotated! I hear what your saying though. I just bought a house myself and playing with cars ain't a priority when ya have life to deal with. Best of luck with your claim and congrats on getting hitched.

AJ.

PS, I'm glad I went with Subaru of Santa Cruz too. They really do have the most helpful people working there.

yeah...specially since they brought charlie back. love that guy.

$2-3 g's is inlcluding all parts and labor for the PS pump, new turbo, hoses related to both and dealership labor.

if I have to do it out of pocket I'm going with an 18g. Since my warranty means nothing anyways.

I remember a post a LONG time ago with some article about how warranties can not be voided by the car manufacturer unless they offer free oil changes from the time you buy your car to the end of your warranty period.

Anyone else remember that post?

I buy my filter and crush washers from the local stealership, I keep all those reciepts for the "gap". I change my gawd damn oil before 3k, like 2800 religiously. FAWK a warranty. It's BS. Well except the brake pads and wipers.....

if you're interested, I'm swapping my TD04 this weekend for another rebuilt turbo. I can buy another rebuild kit and have it balanced for you.

$110 for rebuild kit
$100 for balancing the turbine blades

and we can swap it out. I know you want a bigger turbo, but then you need bigger injectors, pump, TMIC, etc...

Let me know dood and i'll help a brother out.

I'd strongly advice keeping any and all reciepts related to oil changes just so you'll have em...wish I did.

Just talked to the dealership. They're fighting for me. Doing what they can. Said they faxed in 30 plus pages of history on my car. SOA wants 7500 mile intervals on oil changes. mine were 3000 and never more than 5000 like clock work besides that 20,000 mile gap after the free oil changes ended to when I brought it back. I'm serious about maintaining my cars. Shoot I change the oil on the caddy I have every 1000 miles.

the fact soa is pulling this is bull**** and underhanded.

I'll do whatever I can to spread this EVERYWHERE if they screw me over..not to mention fighting it.

Sucks *** man. SCS should be able to get things to work for you. Lord knows you've been there enough. I am soooooooo glad I didn't opt for the extended warranty. Hell the voided mine at 27,000. GST's got a better warranty. Thank god for that.

true that.

seriously....if I get hosed on this one of two things is happening....

trade in...AS IS. or I'm talking to mike and doing an 18g, injectors, ap2, top mount and a tune. I could do all that for about the same as stock..haaa.

mike is working for me though. I know SCS will do what they can to take care of me. I've been a good customer and a good car owner...how many folks can maintain their warranty like I have..haaa.

been so damn hard. I almost wish I hadn't of now. I could have spent that $1900 on parts..haaaa. I know I'd have a lot more on my car now had I not done it.
