Exploding Lip

So im on my way driving from 17 N to 880 when i hear a scraping sound. I didnt have my music on at the time and the windows were open a bit so i probably caught it right when it was starting to happen. So i pull over on the shoulder and i see that my front lip has been scraping the bottom of the road and theres only like a 1 inch clearance so that any bumps would hit it and scrape.

It wasnt the side of the lip nor the middle, but like pretty much...the right corner, like a foot to the right of the foglight. I tape it up really quick and figure that it would be aiite cause my exit *stevens creek* was about to come up. I take it slow but suddenly my lip just comes off on the right side and i run over it, then the middle and the right splinter off and i end up running over all 3 pieces of the lip.

If anyone ran over that **** 2 days ago...my bad, tat was alllll me. Hahha. Anyawys

Im pretty ****en pissed right about now, considerding my cgm painted lip from suby dude cost me like 200+ but i wanted to see if any other damage has been done to my car. So i pull over. Turns out the right side of my wheel's rubber guard that goes around the inside of the fender and "around" the wheel to protect the coolant fluid and etc from being tore up by rocks and stuff - has been completely torn out!! I didn't even see that **** go!

So my question is does subaru stock this kind of stuff, and should i just put that on myself or get the shop to do it?

**Hella bummed**

it depends on the dealer the one out hear in livermore had a inner fender liner on hand a few years ago when I need one, but the guy in parts said that the don't always stock it. as for putting it on its just a few screws and plastic push bolts, you might wanna check and see if you lost any of those as well those ****ing little thins are expensive sorry to hear about the lip tho that sucks

Yeah that happened to me; my ebay knockoff lip. Somehow it dislodged somewhere between Modesto and Livermore. I had the push pins in where the lip meets the bumper bottom, and screws in the middle hole and at the left & right edges by the wheelwell.

I started to hear noises like I was running something over and like pieces of something were hitting my undercarriage. A guy in a Scion Tc was pulling up next to me looking at me, rubbing his lips. It took me a couple miles to figure out that he wasnt just "cruising" me for the truck stop, haha.

I had to replace BOTH fender wells since the front undertray parts of them that were attached to the lip were destroyed. I got them used from another member online for $40. New ones seem to be about $35 each but without any of the push pins/screws. You can totally DIY it, just need to take off the wheel & tire for the side you need to replace a wheelwell on. You'll need a 10mm socket, a flat, and a phillips screwdriver.

That was the 2nd lip I've been through, AND it was painted, so I say FEH to front lips from now on.
