As for the ABS, this is a very limited production run, and obviously aimed at racing teams and people who dont care about air conditioning let alone ABS... Personally, i'd get rid of my ABS if I could easily. Ive had non-abs cars in the past and know how to operate it properly in any weather or road condition, and I find ABS annoying most of the time and rarely useful... Then again, average joe needs his ABS cause he hath no skilleth!

 

Look for an announcement from SCCA in the next few weeks.

I think I know what this car is made for, not officially- but I bet it isn't targeted to people that need ABS.

don't be suprised if a full roll cage is on the options list .....

 

Nope, not from the ones we have been pulling out of cars recently anyway.

We have had a couple of folks upgrade the suspenion with Spec C springs also Spec C shocks etc ride a lot stiffer than our STI's units do.

It's a fact that cars w/ ABS takes less distance to stop than similar cars w/o ABS. No matter the skill level of the driver, the whole point of a good braking system is to stop the car using the shortest amount of distance and maximum control. Why not ad the 15lbs. for an ABS system when it will help any driver (even expert drivers) stop and control the cars?

Not neccessarily. You dont need 60-0 stops on a track, you need controlability. You need to be able to know that when you hit the brakes you are in control and not the car doing the controling for you... Sometimes you need to lock the brakes for a second, sometimes you dont need the ABS to kick in when one of your tires is loosing traction. Ive had times when ive been like "Why the F is the ABS going???" and im sure other people have too. If you disagree fine, but you cant say that EVERYONE needs ABS, cause I surely dont.

 

And if you are driving the car at ten-tenths, using left foot braking to steer the car on gravel or ice you don't want ABS messing that up either....

Probably the cost. If they can fit the suspension underneath the car, I don't see any other possible reason. If it came with a solid axle like Camaros and Mustangs (non-Cobra), I wouldn't even have considered buying one.

Sorry mate but your wrong, every heard of threshold braking? typically does not work too well with ABS.

I would admit that 99% of the population will brake easier and better with ABS but in search for extreme performance where weight is a big factor and driver error is not equated the ABS would be on my list to go.

I want ABS on a switch, plus Subaru ABS (at least on teh WRX) is tres gh3y...

 

ABS almost killed me up on Mt. Hammy after the meet. I am going to be buying an evo here pretty soon, but the Spec C is not in it for me. I want a sunroof, and AC.

If you are a serious, fast, and skilled driver, you don't want ABS...

Oh yeah...one last thing...
