Evo 8 @ the Stick (6 pics)

We saw the Evolution run at 3com. Sorry no action shots.

In front of SD. This this going to run in DSP?

Still in front.

Brembos and Enkeis.

No Mitsubishi on the valve cover.

Everyone hudled around.

Interior.

The stock Evo's fastest run was a 60.xx seconds (I believe) with an experienced SCCA driver. As a gauge, the WRX's ran between 58.xx-70.xx. The fastest time on the day was 54.xx (either a Shelby Cobra or 72 Corolla).

I got the movie!

http://www.grippybits.com/movies/evo8.mov

The evo's best time was a 60.8, the fastest time in SM for that run group was a 57.2

keep in mind, the EVO was stock on the stock factory tires, with no other mods other than the muffler was replaced with a straight pipe.

Hey Chris

That car looks so forgiving on the turns. It came in hot and started to plow then the rear steps out and then the front grips...and that is stock form...hhhhhmmmmmmm ... Nice I say!!!

Gino,

I got a ride in it. The EVO handles better from the factory than my prepped WRX. It demonstrated almost perfectly nuetural handling, with mild oversteer if you lift right as you hit the apex. The power comes on like a train , you have 19psi at 3500rpm and it comes on so smooth, like butter on hot toast.

Amazing car, I really want one....
