Bought a couple of doritos on a stick *PICS*
I've been lurking i-club for quite a while now (about 3-4 years), and have always been a big fan of subarus. However, my budget never allowed me the freedom to pick up a wrx, so I sort of moved on. However, since I have liked subarus for so long, I felt like I might as well post this here.
Just picked this up today. I've been looking for an S5 Turbo II for months now. Most of the ones I've seen have been in completely asstastic condition, including white paint that looked off white/creamish yellow, and clearcoat that had peeled like string cheese. I've seen air bubbles in the clutch, bent crossmembers, bashed in fenders, etc etc. I even went so far as to look at cars in southern california, nearly buying a TII swapped GTU in orange county. I also toyed around with the idea of getting a very good condition car shipped from Michigan, but that would have just been a *****. I found this one on craigslist a while ago, but the seller took his sweet time getting back to me (over a month). I finally saw it last weekend and decided to leave a deposit with him. It is definitely not in perfect condition. Some lady backed into it in the parking lot, so there are a couple of dents on the passenger side front fender, the paint is decent, but appears to have minute scratches and dirt in a few places. The car drives very well, though I did manage to stand on the clutch for so long that it got stuck halfway down. I had to lift it back up with my foot. There are a few spots where the owner hit it with some spray paint, which I'm assuming are from scrapes and faded areas.
I'm fully expecting this to be a test of patience and an exercise in frustration, but I'm prepared to accept the consequences of owning a rotary powered vehicle.
