Every wonder how much a unibody weighs?
I did.
I have this ongoing project. 2dr 1995 Brighton. At this point, everything (I mean everything) is off the unibody except for the fixed glass. If there was a bolt holding it on, it came off.
I bought some cheap bath scales and stuffed one under each jack stand. Not the most scientific approach, but when I weight myself on one, it's reasonably accurate.
Any guesses? I'll post up the number in a bit.

The number came out at 630 pounds. I had a 300lb bath scale under each jack so I figure the # was fairly accurate.
Quite a bit lighter than I would have expected and there is still about 45 pounds of glass that will come out.

And that right there, is how much a Subaru non-RSRF unibody weighs... I was expecting 1000-1500 but perhaps the larger newer Subaru vehicles would weigh that much, if maybe even less with the lighter unibody designs with RSRF (ring-shaped reinforcement frame).

We're talking just the unfixtured, unassembled unit-body, correct? No panels, doors, trunk, hood, then yes, ~500-1000lbs, 1350-ish or so with the panels on and no glass, etc.
