my co worker did this for his 5 series last year... he said it was well worth it and you save some money i believe. its kinda like paying what you would pay for if it was shipped here, but with a free trip to germany instead. at least thats what he told me to do once i get a 335i...

how is it cheaper? you still have to get the car over here right? and im sure BMW has a good % off for barge real estate, even if they pass that onto you i dont know where the $2000 comes from. Just curious cuz if its true, i'll do it in a few years.

Why doesnt Japan have this?

 

well, included in the sale of the vehicle, u get 13 days of car registration and premium car insurance, transportation back to the states where upon arrival the us techs reinspect the vehicle, and make adjustments on the car to fit us regulations. And it is then redelivered to you by a salesperson. and plus it's about 7% off and most of the time u can bargain it to 10% off US MSRP.

DO IT!!!! I can't even begin to describe how much fun it is. We've done it twice with Bimmers. First for my dad's 2000 740iL and then for my mom's 2001 530i. There's nothing like charging around Europe in a brand new car without worry of tickets and especially bad drivers I only imagine it'd be that much more fun in a 135i.

Picking it up at the factory is super fun. When we went to pick up my mom's car the Mini wasn't out in the U.S. yet and there was a veritable crapload of them all over the place. There were also a buttload of Z8's too which was a real treat. You used to get the Euro delivery at the main dealership in Munich, but they changed it to pickup at the factory sometime between when we picked up the two cars.

Oh, and if you pick up the vehicle European delivery it's already US spec. There is no readjustment when it gets back to the states.

NO, you pay for your airline tickets and hotel.. LOL. they have a deal with lufthansa that you can get B1G1 (free ticket) in conjunction with euro deliver.

on BMW's site, the price range from like $1300 to $4000 off the MSRP.

plus lufthansa has a 2 people fly for the price of 1.

it was a very cool deal. i spent a couple hours at the fremont BMW office and chatted with a very cool lady there.

only downside is somehow the M5 and M6 dont fit the euro delivery program...

odd...

 

Yup, you pay for airfare and accomodations, but they knock a few thousand off what you'd be paying in the U.S.
