I think there's a few gems in popular hip-hop, but really, no one can really come out with a "great" album these days though, track-for-track, intro to outro. It's sad.

Red face

all this new-age music blows. EMO and "slit-my-wrists" music sucks. my whole high school listen to it and you should see them dress.....whats this all coming to?? All the good hip-hop and "rap" music was from the mid 1990's like the (ex. the whole Hieroglyphics crew --which includes del, pep love, casual, souls of michief--- and other groups like people under the stairs, smiff n' wessin, genelec & memphis reigns, tribe... theres tons more but i wont type it all out) even eminem was at his prime during the 1990's. This new lame "music" like LUDACRIS , jarule, e-40, fabolous... and andre nikatina (people think he's underground) ..... all the good music is from the 1990's and thats fo sho!!!!!!! woot!

Fabolous' new joint, "Breathe" is a big step away from the normal crap he does. It's actually a quality track. People just shun out music in general just based off popular names. I keep an open mind and I listen to everything and give everything a chance. I admit, I do miss the golden era of hip-hop from 85-95, but some artists I used to not like so much before are starting to step up their game a bit.

Also, don't ever put E-40 in the "lame" catagory. :P Most Bay Area hip-hop listeners respect the man. E-feezy's been in the game for well over a decade, so it's not like he just came outta nowhere. How can you forget classics like "One Love", "Captain Save-A-Hoe", and "Hope I Don't Go Back"? Those were my favorites.
