if you read the wikipedia page it tells a lot of what happened with Israel back in the day, as well as some other information.
Cliff notes are this guy was a Sweed he negotiated the release of a bunch of european jews from a german concentration camp. Later on the guy was appointed united nations position for the middle east, Palestine etc, then he was assassinated by the to come Israeli prime minister.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a both broad and deep subject; 2 minutes on the news or 1 day in history class is far from enough to fathom the vastness of the issues surrounding it.

Agreed. But I do find satisfaction when people figure out that the conflict isn't so black and white like we are lead to believe.
I just found it amazing, that me nor anyone I know had even heard of this guy. He saved almost 50k european jews during end of the war. He was important in the United Nations. He was one of the first to try and work out peace there. Schools teach their own brand of history.

This. This root of conflict between the Arabs and the Jews goes back to the first book of the Bible and the Torah, and in the passages regarding ancient times in the Quran.

Israel should be held accountable for their obvious violation of the UN sanctioned borders that created their state in the first place, the countless civilian casualties bestowed on the Palestinians, the creation of countless Palestinian refugees (Muslim, Christian and Atheist) that have fled the area, the continued use of UN BANNED white phosphorus bombs... should i continue?

There are so many dimensions to this argument. I completely stand by my statement of the issue not being black and white. I provided some insight into why it isn't black and white. I told you a little bit about the issue that many people have with Israel because not many people want to talk about that issue. It is sort of taboo.
My goal/hope was to get some of you to think about the issue more in depth. Hopefully from an angle that you haven't thought or heard of.
In the end, you can find a ton of arguments from both sides that are valid and invalid, but it seems to me that the US media loves to paint Israel as the golden child.
