ECU tuning for the FRS

Does anyone know if GST or EQ started tuning for the FRS?

I'm sure both could tune the BRZ/FRS, but I don't know for sure. There's also Mann Engineering. I know that Bill Knose from Delicious Tuning in San Diego does come up to tune at Mann.

What are the mods? What are you expecting to get out of a tune? You wont be getting much extra power.

Yea but theres a few problems. There's knock on the high end if you shift too fast, and some other direct injection seal problems. I just wanna make it as reliable as possible since ima start tracking it more and more.

Ed has worked very hard on making sure there is no shift knock on all sti and has done a great job. That being said depending on the severity of the problems, if something does end up failing and your are bone stock it will be much easier to get a replacement/fixed under warranty. I'm sure you know the gearbox or rear end thumping when you shift sometimes is normal. There was a bulletin about it.

Yea im pretty use to that from the STi, the main thing that im struggling with is if something does happen and i have it tuned my warranty will probably be revoked. But if i tune it, the car will most likely last longer. I just want this to be as reliable as my old STi i guess haha..

I think it's smarter to get a tune and have it be reliable, but before you spend the money make sure everything is good. Subaru tunes are poop.

Tuning is tuning when it comes down to it. Any good tuner with a dyno should be able to tune any car. When it comes down to it, they are just timing tables and closed loop A/F ratio charts. It's an NA car so it's way easier to tune than say a WRX
I don't know of anyone that's cracked the FRS ECM just yet

Having had a few subies ranging from stage 2 to externally gated fp I'd have to 100% disagree, I'd argue its one of the most important and complex things at least with the turbo soobs. I mean look how ****ty OTS maps are.Anyways blk and I were referring to Subaru stock tunes being notoriously dangerous for longevity and how it's best to get a good custom tune balanced with the dilemma of voiding your warranty. I can only imagine how poor this stock tune is with the di and high compression. I personally don't notice it when driving the brz performance wise but I would bet my life a great tuner could improve life of the motor.

The BRZ is not turbo. There is no chance of detonation from hellaflush intake or noisemaker due to running lean unless you fill up with water instead of gas.

Save your money and spend it on Autox lessons because G-ride (or whatever his real name is) took me out in his stock BRZ and made me grin just with skills ( but he practices pretty much every weekend on closed courses and I don't grin much)

A stock BRZ tune is fine but a stock driver is **** is the point I'm making so don't waste money on a pointless tune no matter what the inter webs says until 2 one hundreds of a second is costing you a win

Should just use the money on track days and just get a tune after your warranty runs out.

the main problem with our motors is the DI failures. I already autox in Marina since i live here, and do track days when I can.

Yep I tune the BRZ/FRS using Ecutek. I've owned the software for nearly a year now although I've only tuned a handful of BRZ's. Give me a call if you're interested.

Thanks
