Yeah man. mine is freaking out all the time. It just started doing it too the other day. I think CHP is trying to F*** with us. It never did it before but now the damn thing goes off like crazy up and down 101.

It just started on wednesday. On the 101 even my Ka rarely but has happend has been freaking out every time i go through an overpass.

I hope they do something about it soon. BUt i think they probably wont do anything cuz it really doesnt harm them. only the people trying to steer clear of the chippy's. im glad to know it wasnt only mine though. I think my roomie thought i was crazy

I have an $80 silver bullet from costco that has served me well over the years.

For the last 11 months i've been commuting from 280 & Saratoga Ave. up 280 to 92 then off in to San Mateo and this last week i've noticed a HUGE increase in how often I see K band now on 280. it keeps scaring the crap out of me though as it happens 6-8 times each way. it happens at peak and off hours of the day as well. really weird.

what if traffic comes to a stop all of a sudden? O_O
kind of dangerous if you ask me.

Haha, I re-read my original statement and I think I layed on the exageration a bit thick Of course I watch the road for upcoming traffic but I watch my mirrors ALL the time....this paranoia just comes from being pulled over way too many times for doing absolutely nothing! Not just in my rice rocket cars but my old Ford Probe, Buick Lesabre and 1984 wagon. Cops need to find something productive to do!

Hell, I was taking a turn at 1mph around a really tight turn at Mt. Diablo two weeks ago, and got pulled over by an on coming ranger (who was speeding). He almost hits me and pulls me over about 5 minutes later after he made a U Turn. Takes my papers, runs my plates, etc....then has the nerve to tell me not to speed! I told him I definitely wasnt speeding and he says, "Yeah I know, I just wanted to make sure you stay safe."

One thing I noticed while driving on 580 around 10 or so in the evening is that my v1 didn't go off. Maybe those speed senors (since it looks like they are solar powered) shut off in the evening.

I turn off my x & K with my V1 as well. Haven't had an issue keeping those two off. Mostly I use it for Nor Cal to So Cal trips. Hasn't failed me yet.

i'm pretty sure you can't turn off the k or x band on the passport.. but has anyone figured out a way??? or is it just the v1 that does that??
