But bidirectional won't matter because your video card is output only anyways.

Any DVI-HDMI cable should work for you.

That's not true. It's bi-directional signaling. The video card queries the monitor to find out a number of things like the possible resolution and for HDMI if it is a secure display to display protected content on, so obviously the monitor has to talk back to the video card.

^^well i think he meant the dvi ports on a video card aren't meant to input video. of course there is some sort of communication there.

DDC aside, only cards that have HDCP on their DVI outputs. Many do not though.

I meant it more that it doesn't accept a video signal.

If you are looking for some cheap HDMI-DVI or any other type of cable for cheap, go to monoprice.com, extremely cheap, and dont get fooled by monster cables they are overpriced. I dont think there are any special ways monster enhances the 1's and 0's.

this reminds me of a cable maker i saw during CES where on their SPEAKER cable, they had directional arrows imprinted on the cable jacket...

hahaha i would never ever buy a monster cable unless it was for analog. in which case they can be very nice for preventing any signal interference.
