The looooooong run list kills it for me. But other than that a great event.

I know the Duel was my fist exposure to Autocross, and is really what helped lead me into Motorsports in general.
There are lots of people who go plenty fast at that event... and a few guys who show up in late 70's sedan-boats that are fun to watch as well.

The whole event is a fundraiser for the Auto-Tech program at De Anza, which is pretty hardcore and has produced a lot of the good mechanics in the area.
Do the spectators pay now?!

Or the it's the entry money we are talking about?

They didn't charge entry for spectators last year or the year before that. I think they do alright it on the t-shirts and hot dogs though.

It's entry money, on site sponsors (Custom Alignment and others) T-shirts sales and BBQ.
Still free to watch

I was in the Auto Program and its one of the biggest events for us as far as fund raising goes, plus its A LOT of fun. Luckily now I can come and go as I please and not stay alllll day to set up and tear down.

Whats the point? Its kind of like a car show/bragging rights for the more avid autoX'ers, and entry way to the sport for those who dont know. My old co-worker has got the fastest time of the day 3 years in a row in his Maz-dat (Datsun with 13b), theres a reason to brag. Plus its just good ol' fun.

Look for my Red WRX out there'

Is there a fee to spectate? As it stands now I don't work on Sunday, so I may come take some shots.

Fun times! What I learned today though, 205/55 Goodride All Seasons are not good for autoX'ing.
