Dubai's Union Properties has won the rights to develop Formula One theme parks around the world, the official Formula1.com Web site reported on Thursday.
The property development company signed an agreement last year to build a $360-million theme park, due to open to the public in 2009, in the Gulf emirate.
The Web site said Union Properties CEO Simon Azzam and Formula One's commercial supremo Bernie Ecclestone had signed an agreement in London on Thursday allowing the concept to become global.
"We are starting in Dubai with the first ever F1 theme park, but this will only be one of many that eventually will be developed around the world," said Azzam.
Construction on the Dubai project, at the emirate's existing MotorCity facility, will start next month and will include a hotel and conference centres.
"Formula One is a worldwide brand and it is logical that if we do something it will be for the whole world at large," said Ecclestone.

Dubai is very nice and clean, minus the sand and 120 degree heat. The people there are really rich and are very nice.
The prime minister is super filthy rich. He has like 25 cars all brand new.

ive been actually trying to get a job in Dubai for a while now. ive applied to the prince's airline as a aircarft technician, but i havent heard from them. yeah dubai's awesome, they have an indoor snow slope above their mall which the second largest mall in the world. not to mention alll those man made islands they have.
when ever i hear Dubai I think "Millionaire’s theme park"

I know some one that bought into a company that is doing all the windows on for the build out. I was tripp'n out when i saw the palm but when i saw the world I was like "hot damn, I wonder where all this money is coming from..
"
...however i do hear that they are skimping on the quality of rock foundation that they are shipping in to form the islands. come another 100 years there could be some issues. but then again they are selling off the ownership so liability will be past on to new ownership... hmm... millionaires be where
