As per Ueo Katsuhiro himself, you can drift anything.
AWD car, if set up properly, can out drift any RWD car. It will be a lot faster and it will look better.
Once again, the reason the AWD is banned from D1, is because it will be too fast comparing to RWD cars.
For example, a US spec STi can drift were very easy.
---
To properly setup any AWD car to drift, you need special "drift spec" LSD's, proper suspension and sway bars.
NZO, you just proved my point, that in US, noone can drift as they do in Japan. Local "Drift Clinics" are still in infant stages and so are 99.9% of the drivers. Why do you think only like 3 US drivers qualified for US D1 GP and were iliminated in the begining. Also, none of them participated in the exhibition multi-car drifting. Skill level difference is just too great.

when i had my ae86, club4ag.com hosted drift days for $100 each person. and this goes on for the whole day. there would many instructors but the advanced drivers got to learn from the pros. i wouldnt go get a lesson but i sure would go to watch or maybe be an beginning instructor
.
i have taken my wrx sideways but you have to be going really fast. rain helps too.
