downpipe install suggestions

hey does anyone know of an online "how to" for a downpipe installation? i doubt its that hard but itd be nice to see someone elses suggestions. i checked scoobymods.com and searched here and on google.. no findings.

or if anyone has any suggestions for installing it, i will be doing it in my buddies shop which has a lift and all the tools i could possibly need. but if anyone has any tips, cautions, warnings, etc that would be cool, cause obviously i have never installed a downpipe but im assuming its basically unbolt, remove sensors, pull down, replace downpipe bolt up, setup CEL fix stuff etc.

thanks guys.

And new gaskets. Don't skip the small stuff. It will save you alot of trouble later on.

The whole process is very simple, mostly if you have all of the tools and a friend to help.

Imo

1. wd-40 the hell out of the bolts to be removed the night before.

2. 02 sensor wrench

3. Have a friend help you, will make the wrenching go faster, and they can help you if you get into a tight spot.

4. Install uppipe too at the same time and save (if not already installed) yourself a headache later

PB Blaster the bolts after the car has cooled a little, then when you are ready to get to the bolts.......the bolts come off so easy!

Get yourself some anit-seize grease, will help in preventing the bolts form corroding and getting permanently stuck on there, just to be on the safe side. Cost under $5 but is well worth it, squirt some on the first 5 or so threads and you will be good to go. Also do not overtighten the bolts either.

That's a great point, definately don't forget that. Also, don't forget about the bolt that mounts it from the tranny. I missed that one was trying to figure out why my DP wouldn't come off.

Also, my friend's DP actually tore on that mount. Not sure if it was a bad weld, or extra pressure was put on that hanger.

also replace all the gaskets with good aftermarket gaskets - gaskets are very important parts when installing aftermarket stuff.
