I need some tin snips or something that will cut the stock heat shield so i can trim it to fit around the DP. Anyone local have some? All i will have for a heat shield is the SPT one.

You can run without a heat shield and it won't blow up. Especially in this weather

Yeah I know im not worried i have plenty of cooling, i just want to trim the stock and put it back on, less radiating heat better.

The exhaust sounds even better. Im digging the faster spool and the up top power and flow.

If you want even less radiating heat, you might want to look into turbo blankets.

I spent a little more and got a DEI Titanium Turbo Blanket, and after a hard drive, I can touch the blanket no problem. It's still hot, but nowhere near burning temperature, much cooler than the heat shield.

PTP makes a Subaru specific turbo blanket, because our turbos (especially stock) are quite small. The PTP blanket is a good bit cheaper (around $40 less) than the DEI, but there's a pretty good writeup on how well the DEI blanket worked, so I went with that one. However, I have seen good reviews on the PTP one as well. (plus the DEI just looks cooler )

Thanks for the info I'm going to look into them. the PTP looks like a good buy.
