As stated above the Maya calendar just starts over. Its similar to year 999. We didn't write out 0999 until we got to 1000 and neither did they with they calendar. Also, it is Maya not Mayan. Mayan is in reference only to the language meaning everything else: culture, people, food, religion calendar etc is Maya.

wasnt there suppose to be a computer choas bull**** thing that was suppose to happen on y2k? wasnt everyone freaking out about that too? and also, someone told me if you google "another 6000 years" it says that appearantly theres another 6000 years of calendar found from the maya calendar or something like that?

Seriously though, so they only put out a calendar until 2012 because they figured that would be enough to get them by for a few hundred years before they had to go and hand carve another one and somehow that means the world will end?
