Had to be a setup. Even if the lugnuts were just finger tight, they wouldn't all come off that fast and all at once.

Doesn't SCCA do an on grid safety check?

for sure, even if the lugs werent on there, i couldnt imagine them all popping off, it was almost unreal. I doubt each lugnut was even on 1/4 thread!

maybe the RPF1s knew they werent tightened all the way, so they said " F this owner, he doesnt care for us" so they all rolled away towards a different car they saw on the grid. just a wild guess
